HON. (BAR.) EYO NSA EKPO A man loved by his people.
The dream of this young man with a great ambition was to serve his people no matter the challenge. Hon. (Bar.) Eyo Nsa Ekpo didn’t spend time gallivanting around after his graduation from law school. His people immediately identified him as a leader and his conscious involvement in the affairs of his people placed him above many of his contemporaries and even many of those that are his senior. Nevertheless, this young vibrant barrister became the leader of his local government.
Hon. (Bar.) Eyo Nsa Ekpo was born on the 2nd of June 1962 in Ikot Ekpo Ene, Creek Town Ward 2, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State. His birth signaled something significant for his family. A special child has been born! Meticulous and caring from his childhood, these attributes have never left him even as an adult.
Having completed his primary and secondary education, Hon. (Bar.) Nsa Ekpo gained admission to study law at the University of Jos where he successfully graduated and was called to bar in 1992. Upon the completion of his law school, he returned to Cross River State to kick-start his law career.
Seeing the outstanding qualities in the young Barrister Eyo Nsa Ekpo, the highly skilled Hon. Justice Michael Edem invited Eyo Nsa to work with him. Hon. (Bar.) Eyo Nsa Ekpo also went on to work with the late Chief Andem Attah. As the unfortunate death of the late Bar. J. B. Aniekan created a vacuum in his Chambers, Hon. (Bar.) Eyo got the massive support of the NBA Calabar to run the Chambers of the late legal luminary. He surely didn’t disappoint the confidence placed in him by his legal colleagues.
While many people admired the astuteness of Hon. (Bar.) Eyo Nsa Ekpo, he knew it was the right time to launch his political ambitions. In March 1997, Bar. Nsa Ekpo was elected Executive Chairman, Odukpani Local Government Council. Here, he served his people with total commitment and integrity. Also, from 2002 to 2003 he was appointed as State Legal Advisor, All Nigeria People’s Party. Hon. (Bar.) Eyo Nsa Ekpo was also the State Secretary, All Nigeria People’s Party from 2003-2004. Because of his love for sports, Hon. Nsa Ekpo became Chairman, Cross River State Amateur Boxing Association from 1999-2005. Presently, this humble citizen of Nigeria is serving as Chairman of the Governing Council, National Productivity Center, Abuja. In all of these, this legal expert has continued to lead with incredible capacity and vision.
Finally, Hon. (Bar.) Eyo Nsa Ekpo hobbies include: writing, reading, socializing, making sporting and political commentaries, human and people’s rights activism as well as philanthropy. He is happily married with children.
