This was disclosed in a press statement signed in Abuja by the communication manager, Halima Nuradeen.
According to her, the 60 distinguished Nigerians who have been identified will be honored for their outstanding work and contribution to the Nigeria project, adding that the 60 impactful individuals share a special bond with Nigeria as they were also birth the same year Nigeria got its independence, in the year 1960.
“The Nation Builders at 60 still remains a special publication which is aimed at celebrating 60 outstanding individuals who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavor and contributed immensely to the Nigerian project.
“The names of the 60 indivduals have been announced at a press briefing, in the past weeks but we came to know that one of the awardee Hajiya (Pharm). Amina Zakari who is a National Commissioner at the INEC, has finally bows outs of service”
“This is in compliance with the laid down rules of the civil service, before now she was the Acting National Chairman of INEC until Prof. Yakubu took over from her.
“Hajiya Amina was first appointed as one of the National Election Commissioners representing North West 2010, under the Goodluck Jonathan administration. Hajiya Amina has championed the formation of many initiatives within INEC, as she was the pioneer Chairman of Planning, Monitoring and Strategic Committee (PMSC) 2014-2015.
“On the 6th of November, 2020, this outstanding public servant retired, but she remains vibrant, very strong and smart. Hajiya Amina is featured in the Nations Builders at 60 special publications”
“All preparations for the event are well on track” she stated.
